Will we ever have the time,
the will,
the common decency,
the moral backbone
to wage a noble war
against the hideous terrorism
perpetrated daily
upon all the totally innocent animals –
those myriad non-human beings
that have lived
on this beautiful earth
for millions of years,
long before
any legions of humanoids
began their arrogant
self-centered rampage
flooding across the globe
leaving a wake of abuse,
destruction and waste,
and worst of all
shooting, trapping, poisoning,
maiming and slaughtering
millions and millions
of their totally innocent
evolutionary kin.
