In NPR’s Talk of the Nation on 2/2/06 it was reported that the WI state legislature is considering a bill that would lower the legal hunting age from 12 to 8.
The goal is to boost a sport declining in popularity.
The speakers are a professor of rural sociology, the founder of Becoming an Outdoors Woman which offers women workshops on hunting, the executive director of the WI Wildlife Federation, and former Secretary of the WI Dept. of Natural Resources, currently a professor of Environmental Philosophy at U of WI.
