An adult female was injured in a hunting accident near the Town of Smoaks on Saturday morning, November 15th. 911 received the report of the woman who was shot in the face and arm with buckshot and was being driven to Fire-Rescue Station 7 in Smoaks. Colleton County Firefighter-Paramedics began treating the patient upon her arrival. A medical helicopter based from Orangeburg responded and landed in a nearby field. The patient was transferred to the Flightcrew, and flown to the Trauma Center at Trident Hospital in North Charleston. The Colleton County Sheriff’s Office and SCDNR are investigating the accident.
