A full firearms safe is allegedly found in the home of a man recently arrested on illegal hunting charges, all the while the man allegedly had prior convictions for robbery and drug possession. Donald W Fickes is charged with one count of felony possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. Fickes failed to post his current bail of $25,000. Combined with his previous bail, Fickes is behind bars on $75,000 bail.
On November 20th, a warrant was served on the home of Donald Fickes, Jr on Black Gap Road in Fayetteville. Fickes had recently been arrested for illegal hunting, illegal possession of a firearm, and numerous other charges. Since he had been previously convicted of conspiracy to commit robbery and a felony drug possession case, Fickes was not allowed to own firearms. He was described in court documents as being a “supervised offender”.
During a search of his home, parole officers allegedly found a set of black keys located inside of a cup inside a nightstand of the Fickes, Jr bedroom. The room next to Fickes Jr’s was his father’s bedroom. The keys found in Fickes Jr’s room matched a large green safe inside of his father’s room.
