A man was flown to a trauma center after shooting himself with a bow while hunting in Hunterdon County on Thursday afternoon, Oct. 26.
Volunteers at Horseshoe Bend Park helped control the bleeding as paramedics from Kingwood Township Volunteer Fire Company arrived and requested a medical helicopter.
The man was removed from the woods and flown via NJSP NorthSTAR to a local trauma center for further treatment, the fire company said.
Assisting agencies include the Kingwood Township First Aid and Rescue Squad, Milford-Holland Rescue Squad, and HMC paramedics.“
All agencies involved and park volunteers made for rapid treatment and extrication from the woods,” KTVFC said.
“Thank you to our mutual aid partners and to the park volunteers for helping in today’s incident.”
