The Butte-Silver Bow Fire Department recently led a rescue mission in Madison County, south of Melrose, to save an injured hunter.

The incident occurred at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday when the fire department received a call about the hunter, who was unable to descend the mountain on their own.

The fire department utilized UTV 1 to transport the patient to a designated landing zone. Subsequently, the patient was airlifted to a local hospital by helicopter.
