Officials say a 54-year-old man is recovering after being shot by a fellow hunter who mistook him for a turkey. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says they responded to the shooting near the Bayport Wildlife Management Area yesterday. (Wednesday) Charges have not been filed against the 48-year-old hunter, who was with the victim’s hunting party. The victim is injured but is expected to survive.
Officials remind everyone to be extra cautious when out hunting.
