Hanover: Hunter charged for not tagging deer

Hanover: A resident of Rutland, Mass. could lose his Bay State hunting license and may have to forfeit his firearm after being caught earlier this month with an untagged deer.
According to Hanover Police Lt. Robert Heywood, Hanover officer David Tyrie spotted James David Sadin, 19, of 1 Oakridge Drive in Rutland, coming out of the woods on Indian Head Drive at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11.
Sadin, who was in a group of three men, was in possession of a deer he had shot, and the dear was untagged.
Sadin was not arrested, but he was charged with being in possession of an untagged deer. Heywood said the penalty for hunting without a license or a doe permit (or tag), or hunting outside permitted hunting seasons, could include the loss of a hunting license, giving up the firearm, a fine and/or jail time.
“I don’t think he’ll be hunting in Massachusetts for awhile,” Heywood said of Sadin.
