The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office confirmed a deer hunter was killed over the weekend.
The hunting incident reportedly happened on Sandy Hollow WMA in Tangipahoa Parish on Saturday, Dec. 28.
Deputies said the La. Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is leading the investigation.
No details about anyone being charged or what led up to the incident have been released.

This is the second hunting incident LDWF is investigating that’s happened within a week. A deer hunter was injured in Zachary after being mistaken for a deer on Monday, Dec. 23.
