Indiana authorities say a man was killed in a hunting accident in Scott County.
Indiana Conservation officers say first responders were sent to an area near Taylor Road near Scottsburg on Tuesday.
They say 94-year-old Donald Cass was deer hunting from a homemade tree stand when it collapsed. He wasn’t wearing a full-body safety harness, according to authorities.
Cass was found by a fellow hunter, who called police. He was taken to Scott Memorial Hospital and was later airlifted to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Conservation officers are reminding hunters using elevated platforms to always wear a full body harness and take other safety precautions while using platforms.
