A body was found in a search for a 60-year-old man who went missing while hunting, according to Illinois police and news reports.

Patrick Serzynski was hunting on Fourth Lake on Monday, Oct. 30, when he mysteriously vanished, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

His boat and belongings were found that day, but Serzynski remained missing, sheriff’s officials said.

A body was found in the lake Saturday, Nov. 4, according to WLS. It has not yet been positively identified as Serzynski, but the body is believed to be him based on clothing and a general description.

Foul play is not suspected, sheriff’s officials told the Lake and McHenry County Scanner.

Serzynski was an “avid outdoorsman” who died “doing one of the things he loved most,” an obituary states.

He was married for 30 years and worked 38 years as an electrician before his retirement in 2022.

“Pat’s greatest joy was his son Patrick and being a dad, from teaching him how to fish and hunt, being his floor hockey coach, working alongside each other on cars, and too many more precious moments to list,” the obituary states.

Fourth Lake is about 50 miles northwest of Chicago.
