Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) reported that two men in Beauregard Parish were cited on April 17, for alleged hunting violations.

LDWF agents said a person had complained that a turkey hunter was taking over the daily limit of turkeys near Sugartown. After investigating, agents said they made contact with Chad Cole, 48, of Sugartown and Konner Seal, 24, of DeRidder.

Cole reportedly admitted to taking two turkeys on the same day and Seal reportedly admitted to allowing Cole to use two of his turkey tags.

Authorities also learned that Cole did not have a turkey hunting license or turkey tags. LDWF said they seized two turkeys.

LDWF said the men were cited with the following:

Chad Cole

Hunting turkeys without a turkey hunting license (Up to $350 fine per offense)
Failing to tag a harvested turkey (Up to $350 fine per offense)
Hunting turkeys without turkey tags (Up to $350 fine per offense)
Taking over the daily limit of turkeys ($250-$500 fine and up to 90 days in jail)
Using another hunter’s turkey tags (Up to $350 fine per offense)

Konner Seal

Allowing another hunter to use his turkey tags (Up to $350 fine per offense)
Authorities said Cole will have to pay $3,079 in civil restitution for the replacement value of the illegally taken turkeys.
